| 35. That with which
a stupid man does not give up sleep, fear, gift, depression and lust, that
firmness, O Partha, is Tamasic. The stupid man holds sensual gratification
high esteem and never gives up lasciviousness He regards sleep, etc as things
that ought always to be resorted to.Pleasure is threefold according to gunas.
The threefold division of actions and of the several factors (Karakas) concerned
in action, has been described. Here follows the threefold division of pleasure
